DESCRIPTION
Delivered in partnership with Olive Group. This 45 minute self paced eLearning course is an introductory and refresher course that covers the basics of first aid in Australia. It covers basic steps on how to perform CPR, along with a range of other advice to do with accident and medical emergency responses including how to conduct a primary survey of a casualty, and how to respond to medical emergencies such as shock, electrocution, heart attacks and physical injuries.
Please note: this is an awareness course only and is not a substitute for face-to-face first aid training, or for training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). It is only intended to raise your awareness of how to respond to accidents and injuries.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the basic principles of first aid and accident response in the workplace
- Recognise how to conduct a primary survey of a casualty
- Identify appropriate responses to common medical emergencies such as shock, heart attacks, and electrocution
- Describe the steps involved in CPR and other essential first aid actions
